The Remake Of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" is Creepy

And that's a good thing.  It's been far too long since we've had some good old fashioned creepy science fiction.  Lately it's all been about superheros and stuff blowing up.  I want to see more warnings of what the future may bring and showing us how technology or aliens should never be trusted.  That's what  scifi's all about.

Above is the official trailer for the new movie, which is a remake of the classic 1951 scifi film.

Over at IO9.com, they have an exclusive 7 minute clip from the film which features an extended version of some of the scenes in the trailer.  The clip shows Keanu Reeves as Klaatu showing off some creepy new powers such as mind control.  Also, there's a ton of funky spherical things that are going to blow the holy hell out of the planet Earth.

As soon as I can find an embeddable version of the clip, I'll post it here.  But in the meantime, go check it out over at IO9.  They're a great scifi site.
