Watchmen Panel and Trailer from Comic Con

The movie footage

The panel discussion

Some brave, pirating souls have uploaded clips from The Watchmen panel onto youtube.  They're shaky, and the quality is crap, but it's better than nothing.

I'm not sure how long these will be up.  I'm pretty sure the moment WB gets the hint these have gone up, they'll force youtube to remove them faster than you can say Rorschach.  So get while the getting is good people.

The first clip shows footage from the film not seen in the officially released trailer.  The second clip is the full panel itself from con.

The Halo Corpse Aplhabet

This photo is brought to you be the letter Z. This photo is brought to you be the letter Z.

Thanks to BoingBoing.net for introducing me to this.  It's the Halo Corpse Alphabet.  The goal of the project was to recreate every letter in the english alphabet using nothing but the battered, broken and mangled corpses from Halo 3.

Many Spartans and Elites died to bring you this great site.  So be sure to honor it properly.

A really fun quiz you should take.

If you're half the Disney nerd I am, you should take this awesome quiz that was posted over at mentalfloss.com.  It's all about sex, drugs, violence and racism in Disney movies.

Can you guess which things were in which films?  I got a perfet score on the quiz, but that's only because I'm a gigantic Disney nerd.  How well can you do?  Post your scores in the comments below.

The most addicting thing you'll do today

Oh my god, I have found one of the strangest additing things ever.  Virtual bubble wrap popping.  No joke.

Over at virtul-bubblewrap.com you can click and pop a virtual sheet of bubble wrap to your heart's content.

It's all about turning on Manic Mode and going to town.  And the voice that says "Must...Have...More" when you click to get a new sheet is downright hilarious.  I highly suggest wasting a few minutes here.

New Clone Wars footage

Here's a new clip for the upcoming Clone Wars film that comes out in two weeks.  The clip doesn't look too bad, actually.

And for those of you wondering why I have hope for this film even though I think George Lucas is a horrible filmmaker, here's why.  Lucas did not write this film, and he's not directing it.  The film's screenplay is written by Henry Gilroy and the film is being directed by Dave Filoni.  So with Lucas doing not much more than having some creative input into the film, its chances of being at least half way decent have greatly improved.

Oh god, Sony is making a Venom movie. Prepare for the suckfest.

Hollywoodreporter.com has an article up discussing how Sony pictures is in the process of developing a movie about Venom, the Spider-man villain.

Here's a quote from the article: "The studio is developing the project, based on the gooey nemesis who appeared in "Spider-Man 3" and is hoping the character could serve as an antidote to the aging "Spider-Man" franchise in the way that Fox has used Wolverine to add longevity to its "X-Men" franchise."

Now, for those of us who read comics, and who saw Spider-man 3, we are already fully aware of how crappily the character of Venom was treated in that film. Eddie Brock went from being a big muscley tough guy to Topher Grace, a skinny and whinny little guy. But get this, chances are they won't even use Topher Grace in the film: "In "Spider-Man 3," Venom is essentially a parasite that attaches itself to a host via a sticky substance that then gives the host special powers. The fact that it is a substance rather than a character could give Sony leeway to cast a new actor."

So there's a good chance the Venom movie won't even be about Eddie Brock. How in the name of God is that possible.

After the travesty that was Spider Man 3, I'd already given up hoping for more decent Spidey films. This news just makes me realize that even the possibility of hope is gone now too.

The Six Worst Comic Book Super-Husbands

Over at cracked.com they have an absolutely hilarious article about the six worst super-husbands in comic books.  It's definitely worth the read.

Many thanks go to my good friend Gustavo for pointing this list out to me.

Who ya gonna call? Apparently not the Ghostbusters.

This just saddens me.  The Ghostbusters video game that was scheduled to be released in just a few short months, has been dropped by the current license holder (Activision Blizzard) and its future is now uncertain.

This comes as a blow to many Ghostbuster fans, such as myself, who were greatly looking forward to the game.  It was a dream project really.  A video game adaptation that was a continuation of the movie stories.  It was being written by Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd.  And it even had all of the original Actors lending their voices to their characters in the game.  Even Bill Murray was going to be in it.

But now it isn't known when, or if, this game will ever come out.  At comic con last week that had a number of playable demo machines for the game up, and it looked really good.  Why Activision would choose to drop this title is beyond me.  It just doesn't make sense.

Hopefully, the makers of the game can find another distributor to pick it up so that fans will still get a chance to strap on a proton pack and go busting some ghosts.

You can read all of the details here.

Are the X-Men going to get a movie franchise reboot much like Batman Begins?

Over at IO9.com, they've got an interesting article about rumors that the X-Men movies may be getting a franchise reboot, much like Batman got with Batman Begins.

The rumors are abounding that Marvel is working on a film called X-Men: First Class.  The domain name xmenfirstclass.com has been registered and currently redirects back to the fox homepage.  X-Men:First Class is also the name of a comic series about the original X-Men team.

An X-Men movie without Wolverine?  Would Marvel be willing to make such a film without such a huge marketing and merchandising darling?  I doubt it, but I'd be interested in seeing the film if it does indeed get made.

-Patrick

Create your own Marvel Superhero

Be sure to check out Marvel's website.  They've got an awesome little flash application that lets you design your own superhero costume.  It's good times.

I really just spent the last half hour looking at all of the character options.  The pic above is what I came up with.

The Simpsons Season 11 Krusty the Clown box art revealed

WOW, Finally an alternate box art worth buying from the Simpsons DvD collection.  Season 11 is due out October 7th of this year.

Need a chair?

I'm not usually the wrestling geek (I'll let Patrick take care of that), but I came across this ECW match, and I had to share.

Now I want everyone to chant with me as you watch E-C-W!  E-C-W!  E-C-W!

Hulk Vs. Thor

This is a trailer for the new animated feature Hulk Vs. Thor.  It looks pretty sweet, much like the Hulk Vs. Wolverine movie that is coming out too.

It's pretty rad watching the Hulk punching a bunch of Asgard soldiers and their horses.  They should keep making films in this series.  I'm totally for more Hulk Vs. Whoever gets in his way.

Someone needs to stop George Lucas!

George Lucas, seen here laughing as he crushes the hopes and dreams of entire generations. George Lucas, seen here laughing as he crushes the hopes and dreams of entire generations.

Here's a link to an interesting article over at New York Entertainment.  Apparently, George Lucas gave an interview to the London Times last week in which he discussed possibly making another Indiana Jones film.  There's a problem though, Stephen Speilberg thinks his ideas are crap.

Good for Stephen Speilberg.  Finally someone is telling Lucas he doesn't have a good idea in his very hair-covered head anymore.  Here's an excerpt quote from Lucas regarding making another Indy Film:

"Really, with the last one, Steven wasn't that enthusiastic," he said. "Steven's in the past. He's trying to drag it back to the way they were, I'm trying to push it to a whole different place. So, still we have a sort of tension. This recent one came out of that."

Now, for those of you who aren't fluent in Lucas-speak, let me break down his quote there.  My comments are in red:

Really, with the last one, Steven wasn't that enthusiastic," he said. (Stephen Speilberg realized this film was crap, but he was already commited and there was no way he could back out)

"Steven's in the past. He's trying to drag it back to the way they were, I'm trying to push it to a whole different place. (Stephen only wants to make good movies for the sake of cinema.  I want to make horrible, overly-CG'd pieces of crap that I can market the hell out of and make a billion dollars on toys and other merchandise sales.  Screw the fans, their opinions don't matter anyways.  They'll just continue to eat whatever I feed to them.  Don't believe me?  Just look what I did with the three Star Wars prequels.)

So, still we have a sort of tension. This recent one came out of that."  (Stephen doesn't want to make another crappy film because he doesn't want to ruin a classic franchise any more than he already has, but his opinion doesn't matter either.  I'll send the 501st Legion over to his house and they will beat some sense into him until he agrees to make another one.)

You can read the entire interview from the London Times here.

Heroes Panel is online

For those of you Heroes fans out there, NBC has posted the panel from Comic Con on their website.  You can check it out here.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince trailer

Well, this certainly woke me up this morning.  I didn't expect to see this today first thing.  It's the new trailer for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.  My first impression is, "Damn this trailer is creepy".  Is it just me or does the whole thing feel like it's a trailer for some really dark and messed up horror film?  Not that I'm complaining, mind you.  The books do get darker as the series goes on, so it's good to see the films reflect that.  But wow, the flashback of Tom Riddle is downright chilling.

Also, Dumbledore seems to be doing a great Gandalf impression in the trailer as well.  Check it out:

Seriously, I'm half expecting him to be telling a student that they are failing a class in this scene by yelling, You Shall Not.....Pass!!!!!"

This is just a quick reminder that the third season of Eureka starts tonight at 9/8C.  Don't forget to watch it.

Watch the Battlestar Galactica Panel from Comic Con

For those of you who couldn't attend comic con, or for those of you who attended con but couldn't get in to the Battlestar Galactica panel on Saturday due to the obnoxiously long line outside of Ballroom 20 (like me), SciFi is giving us a treat.

You can view the panel, in it's entirety, on SciFi's website.  Go check it out.  It's even moderated by Kevin Smith.  Why?  I have no idea.

-Patrick

You can still see Dr. Horrible online

Haven't seen Dr. Horrible yet?  Wondering why everyone is talking about it?  Annoyed that it's been taken down on the Dr. Horrible website?

Well have no fear.  Even though you can no longer see the episodes of Dr. Horrible on the main website for it, you can still catch the episodes for free on Hulu.com.  You'll have to suffer through an advertisement first, but it's worth it.

Click here to see Act One.  Act's two and three can be selected from the same page, below the video portion.

Yet one more reason Eureka is awesome

On Saturday morning, as I was walking through downtown San Diego on my way to the Comic Con, I heard a familiar song.  It took me a second to place it, as I wasn't expecting to hear the song right then and there.  It was the theme song to Eureka, the incredibly brilliant and fun show on the SciFi channel.

After following the source of the music back a block or so, I finally found it's source.  It was a small ice cream truck parked across the street from the convention center.  The truck was completely painted over with ads for Eureka (as you can see in the pics above).  Curious as to what was going on, I walked up to investigate.

And to my suprise I find the star of the show, Colin Ferguson, handing out free ice cream to everyone.  How incredibly cool is that?  He didn't need to be there.  Ice cream could have been handed out by any random employee of the SciFi network.  But no, the star of the show himself was out there on Saturday morning and handing out free ice cream to the fans.  And he's a really nice guy too.  He was talking with fans and answering questions and taking photos with people.  A class act all the way.

I was already a big fan of the show, but this just made me an even bigger fan.  I tip my hat to SciFi, and to Mr. Ferguson for being so awesome.

And a reminder, the third season of Eureka starts tomorrow night.  If you haven't seen the show yet, go rent the first season, or buy it from Amazon.  It's a great show.  It's definitely worth a gander.

-Patrick

P.S.  More pics of the van, and a pic of me and Colin can be seen by going to geek-tastic's flickr account.

The last batch of Comic Con pics are up on the net

I've finally gotten around to posting the last set of pics from the SD Comic Con to the flickr account.  These pics are from Friday night and Saturday morning.  Enjoy.

New Dead Space trailer is creep-a-rific

This is the new trailer for the game Dead Space that was shown at E3 a few weeks ago.  It's finally been released to the public.  Dead Space is a survival horror game that comes out in October (just in time for halloween).  It's about a regular engineer guy who has to figure out what happened to a ship that is found with no crew on board.  Well, no living crew that is.

Think of it like Resident Evil in space.  Or, better yet, think of it like a sort of video game version of the awesome Scifi/horror film Event Horizon.

The video is pretty creepy, and contains a lot of violence.  So watch at your own risk.

-Patrick

The Dr. Horrible Crew

I was just meandering through different flickr accounts when I came across a lucky find.  It's Felicia Day's flickr account.  Felicia Day is the absolutely gorgeous redhead from Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog.  She's posted up some pics of her at the comic con.  You can also find a number of modeling photos of the stunning actress as well.  Check it out here.

New Batman cartoon looks like a lot of fun

Here's a new trailer for Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The show looks to be going away from the darkness of the Dark Knight and is returning to a more kiddish, fun Batman. He's even wearing the old gray and blue suit.

I find the step away from the Dark Knight to be a welcome one actually.  Not every version of Batman needs to be uber dark and broody.  Remember, it's kind of hard to get kids into comics if all of the shows are too violent or dark for them to watch.  Kids need some sort of gateway show, and the new Batman cartoon seems to be just that.

Yahoo video has almost 4 minutes of Clone Wars footage

Yahoo's video site has posted up a 3 minute and 49 second clip from the upcoming Clone Wars movie.  The scene shown is what looks to be one of the big action scenes from the film.  A rather large droid army pushes forward into Republic lines, and Anakin and Obi-Wan must lead their troops to stop them.  Lots of clone death follows.

You can see the video here.

Wolverine Origins trailer footage

Part 1

Part 2

It looks like pirated footage of the Wolverine Origins trailer has made it onto youtube.  The footage comes from the SD Comic Con, where someone with a video camera recorded the trailer as it was shown during one of the panels.  For some reason, the footage is split into two parts.

With that said, expect the footage to not be the greatest quality, and most likely expect it to get yanked from youtube pretty quickly.  But in the meantime, watch and enjoy.

As soon as I can get better footage, I'll post it.

-Patrick

Just another Muppet Monday

What better way is there to brighten up a dreary monday morning than with a clip from the Muppets? Or, in the case of this particular clip, from Sesame Street.....which is technically Muppet-related.

This video of Feist's appearance on Sesame Street doing a version of her song 1, 2, 3, 4 is just too damn cute. You can't help but smile while watching it.

-Patrick

Evil Dead 4? Hell yeah! Gimme some sugar baby!

Gawker.com has a report up this morning regarding a possible forthcoming Evil Dead 4 film.  At the SD Comic Con over the weekend, Sam Raimi had a panel for his new film Drag Me to Hell.  During the panel he was asked about doing another Evil Dead film.  Here's how he responded:

"I love working with Bruce Campbell... He’s super willing to do anything to make it right. He’s a very funny guy, but mostly he’s got this quality where he will physically do anything to get the shot done right, so I would love to work with Bruce again because I’d love to test those limits. I’d love to make another Evil Dead picture. And actually that’s in the wheelhouse. I’d like to work on it with my brother Ivan [Raimi] when he comes up next week.“

Now, I have no idea what "in the wheelhouse" means in hollywood terms, but it sure sounds like the film is a go, and we'll get to see it at some point.  I personally would be totally for this.  It's been far too long since I've seen Bruce Campbell blowing away demons with a shotgun while spouting off classic one-liners.

Resident Evil: Degeneration trailer is shown at Comic Con

Gametrailers.com posted this video from the new Resident Evil CG animated movie up on their site after the panel at Comic Con yesterday, and I just had to share.

The video quality isn't perfect, as it's a recording of a screen, but it's still enough to get me excited.

The film will star Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, and it takes place seven years after the events of Resident Evil 2.  From what I've seen so far, it looks like this film has fairly accurately captured the feel of the games.  It's got zombies, characters from the game, a big monster with a creppy giant eye, and no Milla Jovovich anywhere in sight.

Enjoy.

The last half-season of Battlestar will be violent, oh so violent

After having failed miserably to get into the Battlestar Galactica panel earlier today (the line was ungodly long), I must refer you over to IO9.com where they have a great accounting of what went on during the panel today.

From what it sounds like, the last half of the season is going to be dark and violent.  But really, would we want Battlestar any other way?

I know I wouldn't.

The new Red Sonja film may have potential afterall

When I had first heard that Robert Rodriguez was going to be directing a remake of Red Sonja, I was admittedly skeptical.  The original film, while amusing, wasn't exactly a classic of cinema.  And Rodriguez, while being an amazing director that I love, isn't known for doing fantasy films.

Then add to that the fact that he had cast his girlfriend at the time, Rose McGowan, as Red Sonja herself, and my doubts began to number.

But then I saw the above poster, and it is beautiful.  It has given me a glimmer of hope that the film may actually turn out ok.  However, I reserve further judgement until I see a trailer.

Deadpool and Gambit will be in the Wolverine movie!!!

Holy crap.  I don't know when this happened at con, but /film has an article up stating that Hugh Jackman showed up out of nowhere and showed fans a brand new trailer for the upcoming Wolverine movie.

Highlights of the trailer include Sabertooth, Deadpool and Gambit making appearances.  That's right.....Gambit.  It's about damn time.

As soon as I can find the trailer on the net, I'll post it here.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the starter set for the Star Wars Miniature Game, has been leaked on Amazon

The follow up to the KOTOR expansion for the Star Wars Miniatures game will be, surprisingly enough, "The Clone Wars" and is due early this November. We recieved a  peak today when Amazon posted this picture of the future starter set for the upcoming expansion.  Wotc did not want the picture posted but has not asked for it to be taken down as of yet.

Finally an Obi-wan in katarn armour!!!! Woot

I'm all giddy inside.

You can get more information here.

Spaced is out on DVD

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, shame on you.  Go right now and buy it from Amazon.

Spaced is one of the greatest geek sitcoms of all time.  It stars Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead and Hott Fuzz) and Jessica Stevenson as two strangers who have to pretend to be a couple in order to rent a really cheap flat.

Filled with film and pop culture references galore, Spaced is one of those DVD's that everyone who loves comics and Sci/fi should own.

A panel for Spaced was held at comic con this morning.  A photo from the panel has been uploaded to the flickr feed from comic con.  You should go check that out.

More pics from the floor of Comic Con

I've uploaded more pics from the floor of Comic Con.  Click here to see them.

Tron 2 footage revealed at Comic Con

As I mentioned earlier, footage of Tron 2 was shown here at comic con yesterday.  As soon as I can find the footage on the net, I'll post it here.  Until then though, you can reade about it here.

More con news is coming, I swear

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the lack of posts from comic con yesterday. Most of the day was spent wandering the floor, and not much time was spent upstairs where the internet connection was. That will be fixed today though. I swear. I'll be posting more regularly today, with additional pics being added to the photo stream (once I upgrade the service to a premium account).

There's lots of stuff to discuss. Footage from the new Tron movie was shown yesterday, the Torchwood panel was absolutely hilarios, I met Walter Koenig totally randomly.

I'll be heading to con soon, and once I get there, I'll start posting stuff. In the meantime, you can read about the travesty that is going to be the new GI Joe movie here.

Mahalo.com Updates from Comic-Con

In case you aren't getting enough of the action happening in San Diego this week, let me add one more source.  Leah and Lon from Mahalo Daily are on the floor of Comic-Con and will be uploading all of their updates to their YouTube Channel.  As always, they bring their offbeat wit and lovable geekiness to what is for most the biggest Geek event of the year.

Check it out here.

The flickr stream is up

The comic con flickr account is up and running.  You can see it here.

UPDATE:  The link to the flickr stream has been corrected.  Sorry about that.

Comic Con update #1

Preview night was packed yesterday.  I waited in line for about an hour and a half to get my badge and to get inside.  Once inside, it was amazing though, as always.  There's So much stuff to talk about.  I did take a bunch of photos yesterday, and I'll be posting them to the flickr account in a few hours.  I will have my laptop with me today and will be posting articles from the convention itself today.  So keep an eye on the page, as updates will come sporadically throughout the day.

If last night was any indication at all, the convention center is going to be unbelievably packed today.  Preview night itself was really crowded.  I guess we'll just have to see how today goes.

I want to see X-wings flying at my face

Comingsoon.net is reporting that George Lucas is looking to re-tool all six episodes of Star Wars into the 3D format, just like the new version of Journey To The Center Of The Earth movie that just came out.

If this is true, then it's an awesome day for Star Wars nerds like myself.  Just imagine how the Death Star battles will look in 3D, or the Falcon being chased through the Asteroid field in Empire Strikes back.

Here's to hoping this comes out soon.

The Simpsons season 11 DVD box set finally to be released

After almost an 18 month delay between seasons, The Simpsons season 11 box set is finally going to be released on DVD this Fall. The latest season to be released from Fox's long running series is due out October 7th, 2008 in North America, and somewhere around that date for the rest of the world.

After delays from the Writer's strike and being pushed back to allow for the release of the Simpson's Movie last December,  Season 11 will finally be made available to the fanatical fans(myself included) that have been clamouring for it for months.

There will be two editions available the tradional cardboard stylized box, and a Plastic shaped head, like the last 5 seasons have had. At this time it is believed to be Krusty the Clown's head. We await confirmation from Fox's DVD department and will let you know when we know.

The Simpsons begins it's 20th season this fall on FOX.  There are a couple of questions that follow this release of season 11 on DVD, will season 12 follow in December, when it normally would be, or will we need to wait till August of next year when the other season is normally released ? Now that the format war is over will we begin to see The Simpsons released on Blue-Ray disc ?  Well if this wait was any indication, it could be a long wait for us to finally compile all the Seasons together in one format. By then will we even care anymore ? At least this Simpsons fan will. A tighter release schedule would be greatly appreciated and help us fans live that dream.

WOTC delays Knights of the Old Republic Expansion

Much to my disdain and personal distaste, our dear Friends at Wizards of the Coast have once again delayed the much anticipated Knights of the Old Republic expansion for their popular Star Wars Miniatures line. This is starting to feel like The Force Unleashed game that we are still waiting for!!!!

On the Light side of the force, this delay is only two weeks. The new release date is now Tuesday August 19th, 2008. Soon all of us KOTOR dorks will have Mission, Zaalbar, Carth and the rest of the crew to add to our collection and at our disposal to use to suppress the Galaxy to our rule!

Set Phasers to Awesome!

New Star Trek Poster New Star Trek Poster

This came out a few days ago, but geek-tastic didn't exist quite yet, so I'm posting on this now.  It's the newly released movie poster for JJ Abrams' Star Trek movie.  That's Eric Bana in the top left as the heavily tattooed villian whose name we don't know yet.  In the top right is Zoe Saldana as Uhura.  The bottom Right is Chris Pine as a totally smug James T. Kirk.  And in the bottom left is Zachary "Sylar" Quinto as Mr. Spock.

Some personal thoughts on this poster:

  1. The villian I know nothing about, but he looks menacing at least

  2. Uhura looks ok I guess, but I was never personally a big Uhura fan. But I guess since she's the only female bridge crewmember, they had to include her for the ladies.

  3. Chris Pine definitely has the full-of-himself look of Kirk, but the question is, can he deliver dialog in proper kirk fashion?  Also, if the film doesn't show him beating the Kobayashi Maru, then I will go on record now stating that I hate JJ Abrams.

  4. Zachary Quinto is scary/accurate as Spock.  I swear, he should get a paternity test to make sure Leonard Nimoy isn't his dad.  The resemblance is amazing.

  5. I'm dying to see what Simon Pegg looks like as Scotty.  I hope they dyed his hair black for the role.

All hail Cobra!!!

This figure is just too damn cool.  And it's a San Diego Comic Con Exclusive figure.  I'm going to do my best to get my hands on one.

For anyone else going to the con, you can find a complete list of exclusive con figures, toys, statues, etc. right here.

Robot Chicken will be making another Star Wars Special

Due to the crazy popularity, and all around awesomeness of the first Robot Chicken Star Wars special, it looks like they've been given the green light to create a second show dedicated to the subject.

You can see the Hollywood Reporter Article Here.

Regarding what the show will be about, here's a quote from the article:

As for the creative direction in the sequel, "we decided to focus on the bounty hunters a bit and explore their stories," "Robot Chicken" co-creator Matt Senreich said. "It's a geek-fest for us all."

Caprica Trailer is downright confusing.

The Scifi channel released the first trailer for their new Battlestar Galactica spinoff show yesterday.  The show is called Caprica, and it takes place 51 years before the events of BSG.  It is supposed to be about the families involved with the creation of the Cylons and it takes place on.....you guessed it.....Caprica

Here's what I don't get though.  From what I can recall, the first Cylons were big clunky robots like the ones in the original series.  Even in the new BSG show, all of the flashbacks to the first war show the original Cylons from the 70's.  In the new show, the Cylons disappeared after the war and no one saw them again.  It wasn't until after the assualt on the colonies that people started to realize the Cylons had evolved and now look like humans.

Yet, according to the trailer, it appears that the very first Cylon ever made is a perfect human copy of some guy's daughter who dies at the beginning of the show.  What the Frak?!?!?!  How is that possible.

I'm so confused.  Hopefully they'd better have a solid explanation for what looks to me to be a rather large plot hole.  I'll just have to wait and see I guess.

NES in a light gun?

click picture for more information

Seriously?  Come on?  Though this is totally geeky-to-the-tenth power, there are so many other more compact methods of getting your 1985 8-bit freak on.  Like, playing Roms on a Pocket PC, DS, PSP etc.  Wonder if it functions as a Zapper so we can get our Duck Hunt, or Hogan's Alley fix, doubt it.

edit:  After further reading on the forum it appears that the light gun has full Zapper capability.  It now earns my full geek approval.  :)

Welcome to geek-tastic

Hello there and welcome to geek-tastic.com.  The purpose of this site will be to bring you news and information on all things geek related.  Comic books, movies, videogames, cartoons, you name it.  We here at geek-tastic will scour the internets looking for all of the best news and will compile it here so that you can find it all at one convenient location.

We'll also be occasionally covering geek related events, such as this week's Comic Con International in San Diego, Ca.

My name is Patrick, and I'll be covering Comic Con all weekend, live from the event itself.  I'll be reporting in as often as I can with coverage of the goings-on at the convention and will soon be setting up a flickr account with pictures from the con as well.

You'll have to excuse the page itself for a little bit for its spartan appearance.  This is my first ever news blog, and I'm going to be building it up as we go.  Over the next few weeks and months the site will see many updates and most likely many visual overhalls as well.

I also would like to take a moment to thank my good friend Josh Lander.  It is only by his good graces that this site is up and running at all.  He is a poet and a scholar, and I am very lucky to be his friend.  Without him, this site would still be a pipe dream.  Thank you Josh.

Now let's start this site off right.  Here's the newest Star Wars: Clone Wars trailer.  The movie comes out August 15th.  Man I can't wait for this one!
