Imaginationland Won An Emmy?

This is one of those truly wonderful yet odd "What The Fuck?" moments that come from the world of awards and award shows.  Trey Parker and Matt Stone, hallowed by thy names, have won an Emmy for the Imaginationland episodes of South Park.

For those of you who didn't see the episodes, here's a super quick summary of the show:  A bet revolving around Cartman seeing a leprechaun is only the start of trouble when the boys find themselves with the entirety of the world's imagination laid out in front of them. But when a terrorist group attacks Imaginationland, the U.S. Government is eager to find Stan & Kyle.

Mind you, that bet is about Kyle having to put Cartman's balls in his mouth if the leprechaun is real.  And the terrorists attack blows up the door preventing all the evil imaginary creatures from entering the land and destroying it.  The second half of the two-part series involves mass chaos as the evil characters kill the good characters off and try to claim the land as their own.  The episode also marks the return of the Woodland Critters from Cartman's christmas story.  And trust me, you don't even want to know what they do to poor Strawberry Shortcake.

Don't get me wrong.  I think this is a brilliant bit of news, and I'm stoked for Trey and Matt.  The imaginationland episodes were one of the most fucked up things I've ever seen on TV, and every second of it was sheer brilliance.  It's an award I think is well deserved, but I never in a million years would have thought they'd actually get an award for such an episode.  Props to whoever determines who gets these awards because that person has some serious balls.
