Attention All Geeks in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas, an amazing event is coming your way. A tremendous blending of music, geekiness and entertainment like none the world has ever seen before. It is called W00tstock, and it will rock.
There will be music, there will be readings from books, there will be short films shown and there will be special suprise guests. The show is being hosted by Adam Savage (the dude from Mythbusters without the crazy mustache and the beret), Wil Wheaton (if you don't know who Wil Wheaton is, you are not a geek and should leave this site right now) and the musical duo known as Paul and Storm.
For decades, geeks were ostracized, picked on, laughed at and punished by the sun’s harmful UV rays. But there is only so long that a people can be kept down before they rise up against their oppressors; and, indeed, the dawn of the 21st century has seen the ascendancy of geeks and geek culture.
As you can see from the image above, the events are taking place in late October. We here at Geek-tastic will do our best to attend one of the events if we can scrounge up some extra spending cash soon. Purchasing tickets to Star Wars in Concert and The Pee Wee Herman show has sort of tapped out Geek-tastic's annual budget of about $7.34. If we can get to the show, we'll cover the event to the best of our ability. We'll also be keeping an eye on this event as further news develops.
