Kevin Smith's "Porno" film avoids getting an NC-17 Rating
Kevin Smith, master of great character dialog in his films, has managed to talk the MPAA into giving him an R rating.
Smith's upcoming film Zack and Miri Make a Porno is a film about two best friends and roommates who decide to make a a homemade porn film in an attempt to get out of debt. The film stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks.
Zack and Miri was originally given an NC-17 by the MPAA due to two sex scenes in the film that it felt were too graphic. Smith then edited the film and resubmitted it, but was still given the NC-17 rating. He then appealed the decision and after stating his case to the appeals board, was granted an R rating.
