This is the best damn news I'll hear all week.

Joystiq is reporting that it has been announced that the new Indiana Jones game for the Nintendo Wii, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, will include something so rad that I can barely contain myself.  In what can only be a sign that dreams do sometimes come true, the Staff of Kings will include an unlockable version of the greatest Indy game of all time . . . . . Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis!!!

For those of you poor and unfortunate souls who are unlucky enough to have never experienced the awesomeness that was Fate of Atlantis (FoA), let me explain.  FoA was a point and click adventure for the PC that Lucas Arts put out way back in 1992.  It is considered by many fans to be the greatest Indy game ever.  So beloved is this game that many fans (including myself) were angry/sad when we found out that the fourth Indy film wouldn't be adapting the game's story for its plot, as had been rumored for years.

The game takes place in 1939.  As the game begins, Indy unknowingly assists a German spy attain an idol that he has been seeking which will lead him to the fabled city of Atlantis.  After having the idol stolen from him at gunpoint from the German Spy, Indy gives chase and gets caught up in a Nazi plot to find the lost city.  Their goal is to harness the city's ancient power source to make their army unstoppable.  And of course, there are also rumors of a  device hidden deep within Atlantis that is rumored to give people god-like powers.  Along the way Indy meets up with Sofia Hapgood, an old flame of his, who will help him in his quest to stop the Nazi's from learning Atlantis' secrets.

The game had everything one would expect from a good Indy film.  There was action, intruige, puzzle solving, romance and strange mystical artifacts to be found.  There were car chases, fist fights, lots of whip action, evil Nazi stooges, double agents, a submarine, giant robot sentinels.  Oh man I loved this game.  And now it's coming out for the Wii!!!

The Wii is the perfect system to get this game on.  The Wiimote will work brilliantly as a point and click device, making the game just as fun to play as it was on the PC back in the day.  If you've never played this game before, you really are in for a treat.  Just check out how awesome the opening few minutes of the game are and revel in it's old-school glory and it's kickass midi soundtrack!

Will I really be buying a $50 dollar Wii game for the sole purpose of owning a 17 year old PC Game I can probably find used online for about $3.00?

You bet your ass I will be!!!
