Sci-Fi Women Rule (In Case You Didn't Already Know)

I admit to being already biased towards sci-fi shows over pretty much all prime time shows to begin with, but this lovely little picture is definitely a nice reminder of one of the many reasons sci-fi as a genre is so awesome. If you want weak, needy, dependent female characters you can watch just about any prime time show. But if you want strong willed, powerful, amazing female characters you should turn to sci-fi.

The women of sci-fi are tough, smart and take a backseat to no man. It's a very forward thinking genre by definition, and that goes for more than just its views of technology and gadgets. Sci-fi is about the betterment of humanity as a race, which includes equality of genders, race, sexual orientation, etc.

I do have one big problem with the above picture though. Where the hell is Dana Scully?
