Death By Black Hole

 

Ever wonder what it feels like to be killed by falling into a black hole?  Now you can find out. 

 

In the above clip is from the video site fora.tv and it features Neil deGrasse Tyson (astrophysicist, frequent guest on the Colbert Report, and all around cool guy) as he explains exactly what would happen to your body if you ever find yourself unfortunate enough to be caught within the gravational pull of a black hole.  Let me just tell you, it's even less pleasant than you think.

 

The video is a great thing to watch, Mr. deGrasse Tyson is an excellent and engaging storyteller and he can make even death by black hole sound humorous.  Also featured in the video is some interesting information about a cataloged asteroid that may hit 500 km west of Santa Monica in the year 2036.

 

And if that's not enough, the video also taught me a brand new word which I will use whenever possible simply because it is so awesome.  That word is.....Spaghettification.
