In an interview with a French magazine named Climax, the director of X-men Origins: Wolverine Gavin Hood let slip a few tiny little details about the film, including some suprises about which mutants are going to make an appearance in it at some point. The list is rather impressive too.
- Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber)
- Gambit (Taylor Kitsch)
- William Stryker (Danny Huston)
- Beak (Dominic Monaghan)
- Kestrel (Will.I.Am)
- Scott Summers (Tim Pocock)
- Silver Fox (Lynn Collins)
- Blob (Kevin Durand)
- Agent Zero (Daniel Henney)
- Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds)
- Emma Frost (Tahnya Tozzi)
That there is what we call a gaggle of mutants. And I don't know if you noticed or not, since he was in the middle of the list, but Mr. Scott Summers will be appearing in the film. That's right. Cyclops himself will be showing up to antagonize Logan at some point. However, he won't be played by James Marsden, the guy who played him in the X-Men trilogy. Instead, he'll be played by an actor named Tom Pocock who has never starred in another film before.
Details on Cyclops' role in the film are non-existant, but my guess would be he won't have much more than a walk on cameo where he's only on screen for a minute or so. But still, Cyclops is in the film. That's kind of cool.
