It's official, somehow the Resident Evil film franchise will have a fifth installment, regardless of the fact that the films haven't shared anything in common with the games they are based upon since the second film in the series and the fact that the last two films have been fairly crappy.
So far, it's been confirmed that Milla Jovovich will be returning as Alice and Sienna Guillory will be reprising her role as Jill Valentine. Milla's husband Paul. W.S. Anderson will also be writing and directing the film.
I have mixed feelings about this news. On the one hand, the last two R.E. films have been rather bad. The stories haven't made much sense, the acting has been pretty horrible and there's barely been any sign of a cohesive plot or character arc involved for anyone. So, will this new film be any better? Probably not. Will it make no sense and kind of suck? Probably. Will it feature Milla Jovovich in some sort of skimpy outfit killing lots and lots of undead? Most definitely.
Because of that last question, will I go see the film in theaters? You bet your sweet ass I will.
