I Love Where I Live

This amazing picture was taken about two miles from where I live in Alameda, California. What you are seeing is a tugboat named the Millennium Falcon passing two of the massive container cranes that are part of the port of Oakland docks. These cranes are commonly referred to as AT-AT's by many of us who live in the area (for obvious reasons), and urban legend has it that they actually served as inspiration to George Lucas when the Empire Strikes Back was being developed.

Alameda may not be the ice planet of Hoth, but as you can see, we too were home to the Millennium Falcon for a short time before it had to make its getaway from the Imperial Forces in the area.

Godspeed to you Millennium Falcon. May the force be with you!
