Good geek music to chill to
Typically, I'm not one to recommend music to people. Usually because people's tastes are so different. And I'm going to definitely try to avoid having regular music articles here on geek-tastic unless I feel that the music is in some way fitting with the site's theme of geek related news and items.
I feel that my suggestion today fits that bill. Podington Bear is definitely a geeky musician. He is a blogger who puts new songs on his website every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. His music is featured regularly on This American Life. He's been interviewed by Wired Magazine, but no one knows who he really is. He is very secretive about his actual identity, preferring to use his name as his public persona.
His music is instrumental. It's quiet, a little ecclectic and very chill. It makes great music to relax to or to put on in the background while you're cleaning or doing homework or whatever. It's very relaxing. All of his songs can be streamed from his website, or you can buy a massive 10 disc collection of his songs for only $30.
Give him a listen, you won't be disappointed. One of my favorite songs is Track #35 on his streaming menu. The song is titled Do Duckling.
