Nobody Can Beat Batman

Batman - Flying high as always.

It's true both in the comics and in the movie industry.  The Dark Knight is just plain unbeatable.  No matter how much money Spider-man or the X-Men or any of those Avengers make with their films, none of them come close to topping the absolute comic book king of Hollywood.  As if there was any doubt that it could be anyone but Batman.

This image is actually part of a much larger infochart that tracks a bunch of comic book movies and their history at the box office.  If you'd like to see that chart, you can check it out here.  I didn't much care for the chart overall though as it completely left out a ton of comic book films like Hellboy and V for Vendetta and countless others, but I couldn't help but love the above image of Batman lording over Spidey and Wolverine in regards to total box office gross.  I just had to share.

Cool Geek Schwag

Jawa Gardner

The Garden Jawa

We've all seen garden gnomes before.  Those little pointy hatted, bearded statues that people put in their yards to add some very questionable element of decoration to their gardens.  Well screw those guys, they're nowhere near as cool as Jawas and now you can get your very own Garden Jawa to decorate your yard in true geeky fashion.

The little guys is about a foot tall and comes equiped with a bandolier of gardening tools.  He's also packing a garden hose and little yellow & green gardening gloves.  Sure, Jawas come from a desert planet and probably don't know the first thing about gardening (or for that matter, what a hose even is), but that shouldn't stop you from picking this guy up and adding a bit of geek chic to your front or back yard.  Just look at how adorable he is.

The Doctor Is Almost Out Of Time

David Tennant's tenure as the time travelling Doctor Who is quickly coming to an end and I'm feeling really sad about it. I'm sure Matt Smith will do a great job as the new Doctor when he takes over next year, but I absolutely love David Tennant's take on the Doctor and am really going to miss him when he leaves. Much like how I missed Christopher Eccleston after left at the end of the first season.

That's the problem with Doctor Who. The cast is always changing every few years. Sure, that means that you'll always have new and exciting stories and things will never get boring, but at the same time you are always having to say goodbye to those you love on the show (i.e. Martha Jones).

The above clip is a preview of an upcoming Doctor Who special which will be airing after Christmas here in the states. It's David Tennant's second-to-last episode as everyone's favorite Time Lord, and it features the return of The Master as the main villain.

If you want to understand what I'll be missing most about David Tennant once he's gone, just watch the first minute or so of the video. No one can ramble on aimlessly like he can and be so constantly entertaining. I hope Matt Smith is that good at being silly.

Random Awesomeness

 unicorn

Behold the Unicorn: Destroyer of Ponies.  There is just too much awesome in this one image.  It's like trying to stare at the sun.  I feel my eyes burning just looking at it's glory.  That little blue one impaled on the horn is my favorite bit.  Also, the little orange trampled one at the bottom.  My little Ponies are so cute when they're being brutually slaughtered.

Mario + Drugs + Music = Good Times

I absolutely love this music video for the Dr. Mario Theme Song with lyrics added. Not only is the animation in the video top notch, but the song's lyrics are absolutely hilarious. Who would have guesses that STD's we so common in the Mushroom Kingdom. It seems everyone there has something, even Link from the Legend of Zelda.

I'd always guessed that Princess Zelda was an unclean woman. Now I know for sure.

It Really Makes You Think, Doesn't It?

Jesus

Sometimes, things just need to be put into a venn diagram for one to see what should otherwise be blatantly obvious information.

I'd never really thought about Jesus like this before, but now that it's been pointed out to me I can't help but accept how true it is.  He really does have a lot in common with Zombies, Dracula and Frankenstein.  How is Jesus not considered a classic Universal Monster by now?  He has all the same traits they do.

This Is What Happens When Batman Goes Green

Where does he keep the Bat-Rockets on this thing? Or the Bat-Bombs?

Ok, I understand this whole "Going Green" thing and the need for more fuel economical cars and whatnot, but some things just shouldn't be done.  Making a Batmobile out of a Smart Car is one of those things.  Sure, this will help to eliminate some of the smog and the pollution around Gotham City, and it will help to minimize Batman's most likely sizable carbon footprint, but is this really something any of us would want to see?

Isn't the point of the Batman identity to strike fear into the hearts of evil doers?  Do you honestly think any semi-intelligent thug or criminal will start quaking in fear when this thing pulls up in a dark alley?  Somehow, I highly doubt that.  The Batmobile is supposed to be an imposing looking vehicle.  Hopefully, DC Comics doesn't decide to have this be the new replacement for the current Batmobile in an attempt to get readers to be more environmentally aware.  It's just the kind of stupid thing they'd do too.
