Pandorum Looks Like Sci-Fi Horror Greatness

 

I'm a huge fan of both sci-fi films and horror films, but only rarely do these two awesome genres ever meet to make amazing films.  Sure, there are many examples of the blending genres to look at.  There are classics like The Thing or Alien.  There are more recent examples like Event Horizon or Sunshine, but on the whole it is rare for a new sci-fi horror film to come out. 

 

Which is why the above trailer makes me so happy.  Pandorum comes from the same people who brought us the Resident Evil movies (which I personally enjoy greatly).  It's a story of two guys who wake up from cryo-sleep on board a space craft.  They have no memories and no idea where they are, why they're there, where everyone else is, or how long they've been asleep.  Over time though, they start to realize that they're not actually alone on the ship, and that's when everything goes to hell.

 

The trailer makes it look like the film is going to be a lot of fun.  I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for this one.  It hits theaters on September 4th.
