Someone's Been Robbing 7-11's With Klingon Weaponry

batleth1

No Joke.  Somebody has been robbing 7-11 stores in Colorado Springs using a Batleth, a curved Klingon sword first seen in Star Trek: The next generation.  I've included a photo of a Batleth above so you can see what I'm talking about.  Here's the report that proves I'm not making this up.

The first robbery was reported at 1:50 a.m., at 145 N Spruce St. The clerk told police a white man in his 20s, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and wearing a black mask, entered the store with a weapon the clerk recognized from the Star Trek TV series.

The robber demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount.

A half hour later, police received a call from a 7-Eleven at 2407 N. Union Blvd., where a man matching the previous description entered the store with a similar weapon. He also demanded money from the store clerk. The clerk refused and the robber ran off.

Both clerks described the weapon as a Star Trek Klingon type sword, called a "Batleth."

Neither clerk was injured in the robberies.

Wow. Just . . . . . wow. It's a sad day indeed when people robbing convenience stores resort to using fantasy weapons to pull of their heists. I know the report said the robber was a man in his 20's wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a mask but I disbelieve that. If I were the detective in charge of this case, my first and only suspect would be this guy right here.

Just look at the guy.  He looks pretty shifty if you ask me.  And he's well known to use a Batleth in combat.  Having trained with the blade for years he is a master of it.  And let's face it, after Star Trek TNG and DS9 got taken off the air, what work has the man done really.  Chances are he's desperate and needs cash.

I just hope that when the cops find him, they make sure their phasers are set to stun.
