Cartoon Off!

Farley Katz, the artist who writes and draws for The New Yorker's Cartoon Lounge, recently ran across Randall Munroe, the creator and artist of one of my absolute favorite webcomics XKCD.  The result of this random meeting of cartoonists could only lead to one thing ... a Cartoon Off!!!

The artists challenged each other to draw 4 specific things, and then they would post them to the net for the world to see.  The rules were simple.

They had to draw the following:

  • The Internet, as envisioned by the elderly.

  • String Theory.

  • 1999.

  • Your favorite animal eating your favorite food.

The results are pure awesome.  You can see all eight drawings at the above link.  My personal favorite was Munroe's cartoon for 1999 (pictured above).

Oh year, and theres a little interview with Munroe as well.  He's a really funny guy.
